Mini Mountain
Mini Mountain by Marius Ritiu is a wall sculpture inspired by the poetic intersection of cosmic geology and terrestrial landscapes. Drawing on the forms of mountains, meteorites, and celestial fragments, the work evokes the idea of a geological relic shaped by forces far beyond the Earth. Handcrafted in copper and enriched with a naturally developed patina, its textured surface recalls the weathered crust of a fallen meteor, while reflective polished planes suggest exposed mineral cores illuminated by light. Suspended on the wall like an archaeological artifact from another world, Mini Mountain invites viewers to contemplate the immense timescales of the universe and the shared material origins of planets, mountains, and meteors. Through the transformation of metal into an abstract topography, Ritiu blurs the boundaries between landscape and cosmos, creating a sculptural object that speaks to themes of time, transformation, and humanity's enduring fascination with the unknown.
